SYConE was featured in the September issue cover story of the Times Journal. Here are a few excerpts of the article featuring SYConE MD, Mr. Yashavanth Anantharaj.
CPM acts as a link between the working elements at every lebel to enure team building and integrated work structures. Yashavanth Anantharaj, MD, SYConE CPMC Pvt Ltd, says, “Active and proactive issue resolution is a central tool to CPM. Resolving various stakeholder problems is fundamental. Other conventional tools like land value management-done fortnightly or monthly depending upon the criticality of the project submittal registers, CPM/PERT schedules, tracking-up schedules and debt registers are normally used.”
In India, project management has evolved very little as a discipline. This can be attributed to the fact that while there are 129 units in China which offer Bachelor of Science degrees in project management and 83 units for Masters in Science in project management, most PMCs in India are grossly unaware of which institutions provide grounding in the field. Courses in business administration are focused on marketing, finance and human resources, while CPM is a top level integration of multi-disciplinary knowledge, but remains one of the most underdeveloped academic strains in India. “Few of us are registered and certified as project management professionals. The Project Management Professional (PMP) degree is recognized here, but that is offered by Project Management Institute (PMI) in the US. For cost management, there is the UK –based Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. In India, there is no such professional recognition for project or cost managers”, states Mr. Anantharaj.
